Since I was a child, I've always have been a big fan of fruit jam. It's so easy to make it at home instead of buying the commercial one, stuffed with sugar and additives. I usually use frozen fruits to make this jam and I simply put the frozen bag in my fridge the night before making it. You could totally use fresh fruits too.
INGREDIENTS
½ cup of strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 tbsp chia seeds
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
1 tbsp maple syrup
STEPS
1. Blend fruits in a blender/food processor to have a smooth consistency.
2. In a small sauce pan, bring to a boil the fruits, chia seeds, vanilla extract and apple cider vinegar.
3. Bring the heat down to low-medium and cook for about 15 minutes.
4. Remove from the heat, add maple syrup and set aside for an hour.
5. Store in the fridge for about a week.
