SIMPLE GRANOLA

I've always LOVED granola - there's something so satisfying about the crunch. I really consider this recipe to be a basic granola since it consists mainly of oats. My fiancé really likes it when I add dried fruit like raisins at the end so feel free to add some if you enjoy them.

INGREDIENTS

3 cups old fashioned oats

1 cup of nuts (I love silvered almonds but you could also use raw pepitas or sunflower seeds)

2 tbsp flax seeds (you could use chia or hemp too)

2 tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp salt

¼ cup coconut oil, melted

1/3 cup maple syrup

STEPS

1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F.

2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

3. Mix the melted coconut oil and maple syrup in a small bowl.

4. Pour the liquid ingredients in the dry ingredients bowl.

5. Spread the granola mixture on a lined baking sheet.

6. Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes, or until golden. Stir occasionally.

7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for an hour. Store in mason jars.
