The ultimate vegan nachos using TVP to mimick ground beef! There's so many possibilities with nachos, you can add any toppings you enjoy.
INGREDIENTS for the TVP
1 cup TVP (textured vegetable protein)
2 cups water
4 tbsp tamari sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp chili powder
Salt & pepper
INGREDIENTS for the nachos
1 bag tortilla chips
1 bag of LeGrand Mac n Cheeze sauce
Green onions, chopped
Salsa, store-bought or home-made
Any other toppings you enjoy (black beans, tomatoes, jalapeños, guacamole, sour cream, fresh herbs, etc.
STEPS
1. Add the TVP, water and tamari sauce to a medium pot. Cook uncovered over medium-high heat until the water is absorbed.
2. Add olive oil, spices and salt to taste, frying over medium heat until it becomes crispy. Set aside.
3. Arrange the tortilla chips on a large baking sheet. Add toppings starting with the TVP mixture, LeGrand cheese sauce, onions & salsa.
4. Quickly broil in the oven for 3-4 minutes (optional - you can also enjoy them immediatly).
